Question 1

How do you get to the main campus?

Accepted Answer

Turn right from 9W South onto Reservoir Road (blue square Black Rock Forest sign). Continue past the public parking lot and through the green metal gate (Authorized Vehicles Only). 12 mph speed limit. The Bus Lot is on your left, directly across from Mailley’s Mill Bridge.

Question 2

Where can we park?

Accepted Answer

Parking will be available in the Bus Lot below the Science Center. From there, you can walk up the stone steps to the Forest Lodge, which is the long building on the right next to our fenced Native Pollinator Garden. Follow the wooden ramp around the back of the Lodge to the main entrance.

Question 3

What should I bring?

Accepted Answer

Wear comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing suitable for outdoors (long pants, sturdy closed-toe shoes, layers). A hat, insect repellent, and SPF 30 sunscreen are also good. We will have water fountains -- bring a reusable water bottle and/or travel mug.

Question 4

What if I am traveling from the city without a car?

Accepted Answer

Staff can provide pickups for teachers from Metro-North stations. Jessica is available for pickups at the Beacon station, and Aaron can meet you at the Cold Spring station.

Carpooling: If we know your travel plans ahead of time, we may also be able to coordinate a carpool with other attendees!
