Join us! Mahjong is a centuries-old tile game that is steeped in history, art, and tradition, and will quickly become your newest obsession! Lisa from Blue Tiger Mahj Club will be on hand to teach you all the beginner basics in two sessions all in one day!

The morning Mahj 101 session will include : learning the tiles, the player card, how to deal, finding your best hand, and so much more!

Then we will break for lunch and come back in the afternoon for Mahj 102: practice through play (we aim for two games or more) and discuss remaining sections of the card not covered in the morning. Enjoy complimentary coffee or tea while you learn all you need to get you mahj-ing in no time - all in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere!

Ticket includes:

• All mahjong game pieces, accessories, cards, and teaching aids available for use during the lesson
• Complementary coffee, herbal tea, and water
• 10% off purchases from à la Main the day of the event

Additional beverages available for purchase from à la Main or bring a beverage or non-messy snack of your choice.

We will break for 1.5 hrs for lunch after the morning session. Lunch is on your own - consider visiting one of the amazing restaurants in Glen Ellyn!

9:50 - 9:00am • Player arrival, find a seat

9:00 - 10:15pm • Brief history of mahjong, learn the tiles, objective of the game, learn about beginner hands

10:15 - 10:25pm • Refreshment break

10:30 - 12pm • Deal, Charleston, and game play

12pm-1:30pm • Lunch Break

1:30-3:30pm • Review of additonal sections on the NMJL card and game play
