During Mental Health Awareness Month, come experience community support, learn about resources, and build meaningful connections.
There's no new way to say "it's rough out there" that will do justice to the difficult world we're surviving in 2026, which makes mental health resources and support more important than ever. On May 17 from 1-7:30, come to Elk Grove's indie bookstore for a range of opportunities to fill your cup, connect with community, learn about healing resources, and uplift your spirits.
At any time from 1-4:30, visit our resource tables:
Jenelle Perez will offer sound bath information.
Leah Jackson will provide chair massages and breathwork along with handcrafted gemstone jewelry for energy and meditation.
Randi Gottlieb, Rachell Alger, Emily Douglass, Valerie Welk, and Silvia Dominguez-Rios will offer casual drop-in consultation and resources for all things related to the practice of psychotherapy. Specific areas of specialization include working with diverse cultural communities, parents of littles birth-to-5, folks with disabilities, veterans, couples work, somatic work, trauma, grief and loss, and end-of-life issues.
At our large Live Edge table, Randi will guide folks in making healing Heart & Spirit Collages.
Finally, we'll offer two mini-workshops:
From 5-6, youth from the Sac LGBT Center will present a moderated panel of 3 youth sharing their favorite MH themed "Books that Uplift Us" and will do a book raffle.
From 6:15 to 7:30, Randi will facilitate a mini workshop called "Sharing our Grief, Sustaining Our Hope, Community Ritual, with Jenelle creating sacred space for the ritual by surrounding us with a soothing crystal bowl and chime sound bath.
This event is hosted by A Seat at the Table Community Initiative in partnership with the Sac LGBT Center youth program and Randi Gottlieb, LMFT.
