An annual awareness walk and community event to raise awareness of the health disparities impacting Black women. It also kicks off Black Women's Health Month in Detroit. This movement connects the community to resources, services, and each other.

When and where will the event take place?

Saturday, August 1 at the Charles H. Wright Museum, 315 E. Warren Ave, Detroit, MI 48201.
This event will flow between indoor spaces inside the museum and outdoor areas on the surrounding grounds.

Is there a registration fee to attend the event?

Registration is completely free. However, if you’d like to support the event and Black Women's Health Month, you can make a donation or purchase a walk t-shirt during the registration process.

Do I have to participate in the walk portion of the event?

Accepted Answer

No. Talk It Out, Walk It Out offers a variety of activities beyond the walk. You can shop the "For Us" marketplace, get a health screening, attend mini-workshops, and more. Check out the Agenda tab for more details on the full lineup of activities.

What happens if it rains or the weather is bad?

Talk It Out, Walk It Out will happen rain or shine! We have plans in place to move key parts of the event indoors if needed, thanks to our partnership with The Wright Museum. Your safety and comfort are important to us, and we’re prepared to make sure the experience is meaningful no matter what.
