Symphonie Fantastique by Berlioz
A selection of choral favourites with our special guests Glasgow Phoenix Choir
The Glasgow Phoenix Choir, famously, arose from the ashes of Sir Hugh Roberton’s excellent Glasgow Orpheus Choir in 1951. They are currently approaching the end of their 75th season of choral excellence. Their conductor, Cameron Murdoch joined them in 1987 as Accompanist and Depute Conductor, taking over as conductor in 2019. Many of the pieces in the current Phoenix repertoire were arranged by Cameron.
They perform many concerts every year, the majority of which raise money for charity and each involves a range of music from choral standards to new music and, in addition, features many delightful solo performances from choir members. For further information about the choir, you can find their website at http://www.phoenixchoir.org
Tickets are available online, on the door, or from members.
