the beachKraft presents - Galina Kolosovskaya
Join us for an evening of art, creativity and community! Showcasing still life, landscape and animal paintings by Galina Kolosovskaya.
Local artist, Galina Kolosovskaya, will present a solo art show at the beachKraft Gallery in Olney, MD, on view May 9 – May 31, 2026.
The beachKraft StudioGallery of Olney will host an Opening Reception for the artist on Saturday, May 9, 2026 from 5:00pm-7:00pm.
Born in Russia, Galina Kolosovskaya is best known for her paintings of flowers and birds. After graduating in fine arts, she was an active member of the remarkable arts community in Khabarovsk in the Russian Far East. She served as artistic director for the Wildlife Foundation, premier environmental organization working for the survival of the Siberian tiger and conservation of Russian flora and fauna.
Her work was shown at numerous exhibits within the Russian Far East, and may be found in private collections in Russia, Japan, France, Germany, Canada and the USA. After moving to the United States in 2003, she has continued her delicate still life paintings, and her newer interest in the birds found here in Maryland. Her works have been shown in exhibits in Silver Spring, Bethesda, Chevy Chase and other cities in Maryland. She is a member of Montgomery Art Association.
Galina will present a selection of oil paintings with subject matter including still life, landscape, and animals for this exhibit. Her paintings reflect the precise realism and tonal gradations often associated with Russian classical styles and techniques, but also often show modern and American influences. Her painstaking approach to oil media is evident in the luminosity of every day objects in her still life works, and the soft texture of feathers and fur in animal inspired pieces. Each object or subject is rendered with care and detail and takes on a special life of their own as painted elements within the environment of the picture plane. This exhibit is perfect for those who enjoy classic themes and rendering in oil painting and modern approaches alike.
The beachKraft Gallery is excited to show a selection of paintings by Galina Kolosovskaya throughout the month of May.
See Galina Kolosovskaya's artwork at the gallery, Tuesday through Sunday, 12:30 PM to 7 PM.
An opening reception will be held for the artist on Saturday May 9, 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Light refreshment will be available to guests.
Artist receptions at the gallery are open to the public and always free to attend.
