About THE QUEEN’S CORONATION
As Elizabeth II ascends the throne of England, three women navigate love and friendship in a changing world.
London, 1953. Buckingham Palace is hectic as the queen’s coronation quickly approaches. Caroline Brimstone, assistant dresser to the queen, is at her wit’s end as her gambler husband spends every penny she earns. When the man she once loved suddenly reappears, she finds herself at a crossroads of what her life is and what it could be. Can she find the strength to define her own future?
Lucy Jones is a junior wardrobe assistant eager to become a famous singer. When a handsome, wealthy man at the palace promises to help her reach stardom, her dreams have come true. And if he asks things of her that she’s hesitant about, isn’t that just part of the glamorous life? Miranda Miller is a New York journalist infiltrating the palace as a temporary clerical assistant—anything to get an inside scoop. Her sexist boss wants her out, and this is her one final chance to save her job. But is it worth lying to the people she’s begun to open her heart to? Soon, all three women discover that just because a woman will soon be sitting upon the throne, it doesn’t mean that society will change overnight—and if they want to carve places for themselves in this world, they’ll have to do it together. With her signature warmth, Jennifer Ryan brings another era of history to life in this uplifting story of love, second chances, and friendship amid a rapidly changing world.
