An Introduction to Herbalism
Intro to Herbalism is our most accessible opportunity for folks inspired to take the initial steps into the magic and wisdom of plants
Intro to Herbalism is our most accessible opportunity for folks who are inspired to take the initial steps into the magic and wisdom of plant medicine. Whether you want a practical foundation for bringing herbs into your everyday life, or are curious about what it might mean to follow a deeper calling toward becoming an herbal practitioner, this course has everything you need to get started on your journey.
This 5-part series offers an immersive introduction to herbal medicine through the lens of major body systems and hands-on medicine making. Students will explore the physiology and common imbalances of the digestive, nervous, immune, and respiratory systems, while learning corresponding herbal actions and remedies.
Weekly sessions include informational lectures, practical medicine-making techniques (such as bitters, tinctures, oils, and salves), and plant-based homework to deepen experiential learning.
Field identification during the herb walk enhances students’ direct relationship with plants, while final presentations encourage integration of course material through personal insight and practical context.
Classes:
April 28, May 5, May 12, May 19th
6:00-9:00pm
Herb Walk: May 23rd
10:00 – 12:00pm
