The Quiet River: Stones, Stacks & Pattern (A Drawing Meditation)
A guided drawing experience blending meditation with mark-making.
This guided drawing experience blends meditation with mark-making, inviting participants into a slow, grounding practice of observation and imagination. We begin by settling into a guided visualization of a river—its movement, its stillness, and the smooth stones shaped by time and water. From this meditative place, participants will draw individual river stones, not as objects to perfect, but as forms to notice and be with. As the practice unfolds, the stones are gently “lifted” from the river and stacked into a quiet, personal composition on the page—an intuitive act of balance, presence, and metaphor. Each stone becomes a vessel for attention. Once the stack is established, participants will respond to each stone with simple, intentional patterning and design, allowing repetition, line, and rhythm to emerge as a form of contemplation. The final piece becomes both a drawing and a record of inner stillness—layered, imperfect, and deeply personal.
No drawing experience is needed-only curiosity and a willingness to slow down. All materials are included.
