- James Joyce's short stories interpreted in song -
We’re delighted to announce that Hibsen will play a concert on Saturday 6th June as part of Bloomsday Festival 2026. The concert will take place at the church of St. George and St. Thomas on Cathal Brugha Street (Dublin 1) and tickets are €20 plus booking fee. Doors are at 7pm and the concert will start at 7:30pm.
We will perform our album The Stern Task of Living, which is based on the short stories from James Joyce's Dubliners, and we’ll be accompanied by Frank McNally of the Irish Times, who will share his insights into the short stories from Dubliners throughout the show.
We would love to see you at the concert where we will bring James Joyce’s short stories to life through original songs.
"The Stern Task of Living is a wonderful collection of songs, really they’re fabulous"
John Creedon (RTE Radio 1)
"The arrangements are thoughtful … and the lyrics come from the pen of people who have spent a lot of time in Joyce’s world"
John Meagher (Irish Independent)
