A mother-daughter owned bookstore on the southside of Chicago committed to uplifting black authors from around the world and sharing diverse stories.  We curate community focused events based around literacy.  Our mission is to make sure strong literacy skills and literature that mirrors the reader is always accessible.  We are the bridge between authors, books, and readers and we love making sure it's always an elevated experience.

<h2>Crafted Stories: Patch Party</h2> Get ready to create, customize, and let your story shine at our next Crafted Stories experience — a Patch Party!Join us on Saturday, May 2nd from 1–3PM for an afternoon of creativity, connection, and hands-on fun inside our store. Whether you’re adding flair to your favorite jacket, bag, or hat, this is your chance to design something uniquely you.We’re bringing the vibes and the supplies—you bring your creativity.Your $15 ticket includes: • Refreshments to keep the energy flowing • Supplies to attach your patches • Rhinestones to add extra sparkle • 1 DTF (Direct-to-Film) sheet to customize your piecePatches will be available for purchase at the event, either individually or in curated bundles, so you can build your design exactly how you want it.This isn’t just a craft night—it’s a space to unwind, connect, and tell your story through style.Event Details: Saturday, May 2nd 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM Hosted at our storeSeats are limited, so grab your ticket and secure your spot.Come ready to create something meaningful—and leave with a piece that speaks for you.
