This breastfeeding education workshop is designed to help you feel confident and prepared before your baby arrives.

During the session, we’ll cover:

  • How to prepare for feeding during pregnancy
  • What to expect in early postpartum
  • The foundations of successful feeding, including latching, positioning, and normal newborn behavior.
  • How bottle-feeding can support your feeding journey
  • Common challenges and when to reach out for help

Plus, learn about how to receive a free, at-home nurse visit after the birth of your newborn.

Led by Kelleen Beck, FNP-BC, IBCLC, this free event is made possible by Family Connects Frederick County and Frederick Health.

Kelleen Beck is a Nurse Practitioner, International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), and former postpartum nurse with a passion for supporting families in the early days of parenthood. As a new mom herself, she blends evidence-based guidance with real-life experience to help parents feel confident feeding and caring for their babies. She offers personalized support and education focused on breastfeeding, newborn sleep, and early parenting.

During this workshop, you’ll have the chance to learn more about Family Connects Frederick County, which provides anyone with a newborn in Frederick County with:

  • A free nurse visit, regardless of insurance coverage
  • Flexible scheduling—we work with your schedule!
  • 12 weeks of access to an experienced nurse after the birth of your newborn
  • At least one 1.5-2 hour visit at your home or an agreed-upon location
  • Professional interpreter services for Deaf and non-English speaking family members
  • Multilingual support, with nurses who may speak your native language
