Overview

Join Simorgh Dance for an advanced, performance-level choreography class of sacred, traditional, and classical Persian and Silk Road dance.

Join the Simorgh Dance Collective for an advanced, performance-level choreography class dedicated to the training and refinement of traditional, classical, and sacred Persian and Silk Road dance.

This class is designed for experienced dancers who are ready to work at a professional level. A choreography class focuses on learning structured dance pieces, rehearsing formations, refining technique, and developing performance quality. Dancers will learn movement sequences as part of an ongoing rehearsal process, while also developing timing, expression, spatial awareness, and group synchronization.

Each session functions as both training and rehearsal, where choreography is built, repeated, and refined over time in preparation for stage performance and collective presentations.

The name Simorgh comes from Persian mythology, referring to a legendary, wise, and majestic bird often seen as a symbol of transformation, unity, healing, and spiritual enlightenment. In Persian mystical poetry, the Simorgh represents the higher self and the journey of awakening, where many individuals ultimately discover that the divine truth they seek is reflected within themselves and the collective.

Rooted in this vision, the Simorgh Dance Collective is a space for disciplined practice, artistic depth, and shared creative growth within a community dedicated to preserving and reimagining Persian and Silk Road movement traditions.

Class is free for Simorgh Collective members. Non-members are welcome to join with registration.
