On Thursday, June 18th at 5pm, we invite you to celebrate Juneteenth with a very special performance. Through the genius of prominent Black Jazz composers and musicians, we will honor the historic significance of the day—the end of slavery in the United States. On this unique federal holiday, Americans remember the day in 1865, when Black residents of Galveston, Texas, finally learned of their freedom. In our current political climate, we strongly feel the need for all Americans to embrace this essential history and recognize the ongoing importance of this day.
