The Harriton Association presents a community celebration of the Declaration of Independence July 5, 2026
Join the Harriton Association for a festive community gathering to celebrate Charles Thomson, the Declaration of Independence and the 250th Anniversary of America's Founding. The program includes:
- Readings of the Declaration of Independence at 11:30 am & 2:00 pm
- Discovery sessions about the desk that Charles Thomson used when traveling with the Continental Congress
- Live bluegrass music with Summit Hill
- Yard Games
- A story corner featuring readings of Charles Thomson and the Declaration of Independence written and illustrated by Philip Johnston
- Community craft project
- Free celebratory ice cream

Bring a picnic from home or take it easy and order a boxed lunch to enjoy on the lawn. Boxed lunches are $25 each and include a sandwich, home made kettle potato chips, coleslaw, and a cookie or brownie.
