MUTUAL INTEREST Paperback Launch

Olivia Wolfgang-Smith’s MUTUAL INTEREST celebrates its paperback launch at Hive Mind Books with a reading & craft night!

Join us at Hive Mind Books to celebrate the paperback launch of Olivia Wolfgang-Smith’s Mutual Interest, “a queer take on the classic Gilded Age historical novel” (Town and Country). After a brief reading, inspired by the book's characters, we'll craft bookmarks emblazoned with our own personal monograms. Supplies will be provided!

Olivia Wolfgang-Smith is the author of the novels Mutual Interest (2025) and Glassworks, which was longlisted for the Center for Fiction First Novel Prize and named a Best Book of the Year by NPR, Apple, and Good Housekeeping. She is a 2024 NYSCA/NYFA Artist Fellow in Fiction and lives in Brooklyn with her partner.

Books will be available to purchase at Hive Mind Books. We ask that books signed at our events be purchased at our bookstore. Book sales ensure that our independent queer bookstore can continue to keep the lights on and bring great events like this to our neighborhood. Thank you for your support!

- Seating is first come, first serve. We have 20 chairs and standing room after that. If you are unable to stand for the duration of the event, please contact us and we will reserve a seat for you. Our space is small.

- A ramp is available for our front door. Without it, there is a big step up into the space. We do have an ADA accessible bathroom. If you have questions about our accessibility, please give us a call: (347) 487-0033. Emails might not be seen right away.

Hive Mind Books is a queer and trans bookstore and coffee shop in Bushwick, Brooklyn. The store and coffee counter will be open all night for attendees who want to make purchases.
