Overview

A live reading and conversation with Linda Erley on childhood and the stories we understand differently over time.

What was it really like to grow up in Louisiana during one of the most complex chapters in our history?

Join us at Louisiana's Old State Capitol for a live reading and signing of Rainbow Over the Bayou: Jim Crow Through the Eyes of a White Girl, a story set in 1960s Louisiana during the Civil Rights era. Through the lens of childhood memory, it reflects on life along the bayou, where everyday moments existed alongside a rapidly changing world.

This event offers a chance to listen, reflect, and engage with a story rooted in place, perspective, and lived experience.

Free admission.
