What Up Doe?! The Official James D. Yancey Foundation|Birmingham Chapter Presents: Dilla Day BHM ‘26! Join us to celebrate the legendary beats,rhymes, good times, and community spirit. Starting @2:30pm with a FREE Music Workshop by Knowledge, Rhythm & Understanding (K.R.U.)making beats, artwork,how to emcee, break dance and DeeJay.
@6pm Show time starts. Live mixing from (5) DeeJays. DJ Suaze, Phoenixx Starr, DJ Modernaire & DJ F/X on the 1 & 2's. Special performances by (2) Dilla Collaborators and fellow Detroit Hip-Hop legends, Phat Kat & Guilty Simpson. Dilla's Mother Ma Dukes will be there giving her blessing to the event. Live painting done by Marika of MNJ Studios. Hosting the event is Birmingham's own Emcee Shaheed!
