About Jon Cowherd
The Kentucky-raised, New Orleans-schooled, New York-based Cowherd is best known for his long- running partnership with drummer/bandleader Brian Blade, with whom he co-founded the Grammy nominated Brian Blade and the Fellowship Band, whose acclaimed, influential albums showcase Cowherd's stellar keyboard work and singular compositional skills.Cowherd has also established himself as a multi-genre artist having worked extensively with a broad array of players and singers from the jazz, pop and rock worlds including Joni Mitchell, Norah Jones, Brandi Carlile, KD Lang, Rosanne Cash, Iggy Pop, Glen Hansard, Wayne Shorter, Herbie Hancock, Cassandra Wilson, John Scofield, John Patitucci, Lizz Wright, Bob Mintzer, Nate Smith & Kinfolk, Andy James and The Village Vanguard Orchestra.
Cowherd and Blade co-directed the Joni Mitchell tribute “Joni 75” birthday celebration with an all star cast of performers from Brandi Carlisle, Glen Hansard, Emmylou Harris, Norah Jones, Chaka Khan, Diana Krall, Kris Kristofferson, Los Lobos with La Marisoul, Graham Nash, Seal, James Taylor and Rufus Wainwright.
As an arranger, Cowherd has scored for big band, strings and symphony orchestra for Brandi Carlisle, Andy James, Cassandra Wilson, Lizz Wright, Brian Blade & the Fellowship Band, Brian Owens and Michael Olatuja.

With years of experience as both a performer and educator in California, Mina’s work reflects her personal journey, characterized by beautiful melodies, intricate rhythms, and colorful harmonies. Each composition tells a story, inviting listeners to experience a deep emotional connection to her music.
The Mina Choi Orchestra recently released its debut big band album, Stories, featuring jazz greats George Cables, Alex Acuña, and Bill Cunliffe. The album has been highly acclaimed and widely recommended. Her second studio big band album, Home, featuring Terell Stafford and Jon Cowherd, will be released soon.
