The Hillside Club is a historic Berkeley Club. Founded in the late 19th century to promote good design practices in the Berkeley hills, the Hillside Club today is a community-based membership organization supporting the arts and culture.  We also rent the club as a venue for weddings, lectures, parties of all types, galas, fundraisers and more.

BHC Documentary Film Series

Organized by volunteers from the Hillside Club, this series features a wide variety of small documentary screenings and interviews with filmmakers. Topics of films include local East Bay history, art and design, biographies, and music.

Special preview of the new short documentary - <a href="https://www.yourrosegarden.com/" title="https://www.yourrosegarden.com/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Your Rose Garden</a> to be screened with filmmakers Alexis Harte and Josh Peterson. Two short documentaries by Luca Capponi, an Italian-Ecuadorian film director based in Berkeley, whose films focus on stories that amplify underrepresented voices.The first doc, <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qmi5NtXQgiU" title="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qmi5NtXQgiU" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Turning the Harp,</a> explores the life of Matthew, who lives in a Berkeley shelter and travels via BART every week to tune his harp. The other documentary, <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rarXCSVfc7M" title="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rarXCSVfc7M" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Small Steps, Big Future,</a> takes place in a bilingual preschool in SF that highlights the power of community, inclusivity, and the transformative role of early education.This event is open to the public.General Admission: $15 ($17.85 on eventbrite)Members, seniors and students: $10 ($12.51 on eventbrite)
