FSC in collaboration with Italian Cultural Institute of Chicago presents a performance with FRANCESCO CAVESTRI Wednesday May 20th at 7:30pm

Francesco Cavestri (born 2003) is an Italian pianist, composer, and music communicator. A graduate with top honors in Jazz Piano from the Conservatory of Bologna, he also studied at Berklee College of Music in Boston and at The New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music in New York, where he received several scholarships.

He has released three albums, including Early17 (2022), featuring Fabrizio Bosso, and IKI – Bellezza Ispiratrice (Universal Music Italia), with Paolo Fresu. His music has been presented on tour across Italy and internationally, with performances at venues and festivals such as Blue Note Milano, Smalls Jazz Club (New York), Wally’s Jazz Club (Boston), Casa del Jazz (Rome), and JazzMi.

Cavestri was named Musica Jazz’s youngest “New Talent of the Year” (2023) and was selected for Forbes Under 30 Italy (2025). A Steinway & Sons Artist and Ambassador, he is also active as a music communicator, collaborating with the educational association Il Jazz Va a Scuola.
