Just Say No

Just Say No

Online event
Monday, June 8  •  6 PM - 7 PM MDT
Overview

Always saying yes? Learn to notice what “no” feels like in your body and practice expressing it with clarity and care.

Many of us have learned to say “yes” automatically — to keep the peace, avoid disappointing someone, or move things along. Over time that habit can make it harder to notice when something actually doesn’t feel right.

In this class we’ll explore how “no” shows up in the body and practice slowing down enough to notice it. We’ll also experiment with simple ways of communicating a clear no with confidence and respect.

The goal isn’t to become perfectly assertive overnight, just to get curious about what happens when you give your body a little more space to signal its limits.

Suggested donation - $20. Donations support community mental health programs at The Rainbow Circles.

What we’ll do

  • Facilitator introductions and overview
  • Group check-in
  • Group agreements (doors close after this point)
  • Brief grounding practice
  • Overview of how bodily signals can help us recognize limits, and description of the communication practices
  • Guided practices:
  • Create a “somatic bookmark” of what No feels like in your body
  • Practice communicating No, and noticing how it feels
  • Optional reflections
  • Closing

Participation

All practices are invitations. After each activity is explained, we pause so you can notice how you’d like to participate. You might join the exercise, observe, journal, take a break, or engage in another way that feels right for you.
