From battlefield to building site: learn about the use of GIS and how it can enhance design, collaboration, decision-making and delivery.
Geographic Information Systems (GIS) are widely used within the military to support decision-making in complex, fast-paced environments, where understanding terrain, constraints and risk is critical.
This presentation will explore how those same principles can be applied within the construction and civil engineering sectors, where projects often face similar challenges around data integration, stakeholder coordination and uncertainty.
Drawing on personal experience transitioning from a military background into a civilian GIS role, the session will highlight how approaches such as situational awareness, standardisation and rapid data interpretation can enhance project delivery.
