Custom Family & Baby Hand Prints! (Slab-Building Clay) 5/9 from 2-4pm
Capture a moment in time with handprints pressed into clay in this 1-night workshop! One and all are welcome! :)
Bring your family, friends, partner, or come by yourself for a workshop that stamps a moment in time! In the Handprints Pressed into Clay workshop, we will use the slab-building technique, a hand-building style. You'll be guided through each step with demos, instructions, and personalized tips in an encouraging space! You can use a mixture of textures, patterns, engravings, and underglaze (clay paint) to differentiate and decorate your prints. Individual tickets are for one person, while family tickets are for 2-4 people.
The goals for the night are to explore a new art form, have fun, and make something with your hands! Ceramics is one of the most meditative mediums as it connects us with ourselves, the earth, and all elements. Go ahead and enjoy a night out full of good vibes, goofiness, and mud! :)
Your pieces will be ready for pickup approximately 4 weeks after the event (or can be shipped to you for an added fee). Pottery/ceramics needs to be fired in a kiln twice (once for bisque and the second for glaze), which takes multiple days. Once glazed and fired, the pieces will be non-toxic and safe to use for drinking and eating; they can be put in the dishwasher and microwave, but NOT in or on the stove. Both firings are included in the workshop fee, and you get to pick how you want your piece to be glazed (colored) in the end!

Note: Shahane will be the instructor! She has taught pottery since 2016, got her BFA in ceramic arts in 2015 with a double minor in art history and psychology, and owns Pudgy's Place with her husband Phillip :)
