To The People, For The People: 2026 Democratic Roadshow-BATON ROUGE-SENATE
Join us for a series of events across Louisiana to discuss the issues that matter most to voters ahead of the May 16th primaries.
A debate featuring Louisiana’s three Democratic candidates for the United States Senate - Nick Albares, Gary Crockett, and Jamie Davis - will be held on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Leon R. Tarver II Cultural and Heritage Center on the campus of Southern University and A&M College in Baton Rouge. Louisiana’s Democratic primary for U.S. Senate is scheduled for May 16, 2026.
The one-hour debate will feature a moderator and a panel of reporters questioning the candidates on the major issues shaping the race, the challenges facing Louisiana, and the broader national stakes of the 2026 election.
Media partners for the debate include The Advocate/The Times-Picayune/Nola.com, WRKF, the Louisiana Illuminator, and LouisianaFirstNews.com. Civic and community partners include 10,000 Women Louisiana, Sierra Club Delta Chapter, and Indivisible Louisiana.
The debate will be livestreamed by The Bayou Progressive, with additional information regarding attendance, broadcast access, simulcast partners, and final format details to be announced in the coming weeks.
“Debates are one of the clearest opportunities voters have to hear candidates directly, compare their priorities, and evaluate who is prepared to represent them,” said Quentin Anthony Anderson, publisher and editor of The Bayou Progressive. “This debate will give Louisiana voters the opportunity to hear from all three Democratic candidates in a serious forum focused on the issues, the office, and the stakes of this election.”
With many Louisiana voters still unaware that the primary election is set for May 16, organizers say the roadshow is intended both to raise awareness and to build momentum around races that too often receive limited public attention. For more information and updates, visit geauxvoteblue.org
