Overview

"Echoes of Time" is a Bharatanatyam solo performance by Shriya Srinivasan exploring time as an elastic, subjective, and human experience.

About this performance:

Echoes of Time presents a series of solo works in the classical Indian dance form of Bharatanatyam that examine how time is experienced, remembered, and imagined. The program moves across temporal states: the past, where memory reconstructs and reshapes experience; the present, where time may dilate or contract under emotion and attention; and the future, where aspiration and desire give form to what has yet to unfold.

Through traditional repertoire, the evening highlights how these dimensions of time have long been encoded within the structure and storytelling of the form, through cyclical rhythm, layered narrative, and expressive interpretation. Echoes of Time brings these elements into focus, tracing how Bharatanatyam renders time not as a fixed continuum, but as something elastic, subjective, and deeply human.
