Speaker: Dr. Xiaochen Yuan, UNH College of Life Sciences and Agriculture professor, Agriculture, Nutrition and Food Systems
Dr. Xiaochen Yuan will provide an overview of his work related to grapevine trunk diseases including the research program he is launching at UNH, and how growers can be involved and provide input.
10:30-11:00 Results from ongoing cold-climate grape variety trials
Speaker: Terence Bradshaw, UVM Extension Chair of the Department of Agriculture, Landscape, and Environment, Director of the UVM Horticulture Research and Education Center
Dr. Terry Bradshaw will share key findings from long-running cold-climate grape trials, highlighting varieties that perform well under northern conditions and how variety selection can reduce management challenges
11:00-11:30 New developments in vineyard weather monitoring through the Network for Environment and Weather Applications (NEWA).
Speaker: Terence Bradshaw, UVM Extension
Dr. Terry Bradshaw will show how vineyard-specific weather data and disease forecasting tools can support better timing of sprays and other management practices. Dr. Bradshaw will demonstrate current NEWA tools relevant to cold-climate grape production.
11:30 - 12:30 NH Enology: Aromatic White Wines
Grower Panel – Aromatic white wines
Three New Hampshire winemakers will discuss the opportunities and challenges of producing aromatic white wines in northern regions. This peer-to-peer conversation will explore varietal choices, styles, and market potential for expressive whites

1:00 - 2:15 Summer Pruning and Scouting summer diseases out in the orchard
Speaker: Dr. Terence Bradshaw, UVM Extension and Dr. Becky Sideman, UNH Professor of Horticulture and Chair in the Dept. of Agriculture, Nutrition & Food Systems, with attendees
To wrap up the day we will be out in the vineyard with Dr. Bradshaw and Dr. Rebecca Sideman (UNH) for a guided walk focusing on summer pruning, canopy management, and identifying active disease issues during the growing season. We will facilitate an interactive discussion with producers throughout the vineyard walk.
