11 maggio - 12 ottobre 2026 - chiuso a luglio e agosto - In occasione del suo 50° anniversario, l'Istituto Universitario Europeo presenta la mostra OPEN: A new civic space for art and science. - Ospitata a Palazzo Buontalenti (ingresso: Via Cavour 53), sede storica del celebre laboratorio alchemico di Francesco I de’ Medici e resa accessibile al pubblico grazie all’Agenzia del Demanio e al sostegno dei nostri partner, la mostra OPEN avvia un dialogo tra arte contemporanea e ricerca accademica. Essa esplora le fondamenta invisibili della vita economica e invita i visitatori a riflettere su temi quali la raccolta, l’esaurimento, l’irreversibilità e la mutazione. OPEN, curata da Sergio Risaliti e Stefania Rispoli e ispirata alla ricerca di Johanna Gautier-Morin, presenta opere site-specific di Agnieszka Polska, Berlinde De Bruyckere, Eglė Budvytytė, Elena Mazzi, Leone Contini, Riccardo Previdi e Pierre Chastel. I volontari della delegazione FAI di Firenze accoglieranno i visitatori, mentre gli storici dell’arte di MUS.E guideranno le visite della mostra.

From 11 May to 12 October 2026 - closed in July and August - to mark its 50th anniversary, the European University Institute presents the exhibition OPEN: A new civic space for art and science. - Housed in Palazzo Buontalenti (entrance: Via Cavour 53), the historic site of Francesco I de’ Medici’s famous alchemical laboratory, and made accessible to the public thanks to the Agenzia del Demanio and the support of our partners, the exhibition OPEN initiates a dialogue between contemporary art and academic research. It explores the invisible foundations of economic life and invites visitors to reflect on themes such as collecting, exhaustion, irreversibility and mutation. OPEN, curated by Sergio Risaliti and Stefania Rispoli and inspired by the research of Johanna Gautier-Morin, features site-specific works by Agnieszka Polska, Berlinde De Bruyckere, Eglė Budvytytė, Elena Mazzi, Leone Contini, Riccardo Previdi, Pierre Chastel. Volunteers from the FAI Florence delegation welcome visitors, whilst art historians from MUS.E lead guided tours of the exhibition.

Important Information: Free entry. Maximum capacity in the exhibition area is 100 visitors at a time.
