The Chattery cultivates and fosters a community of learners and teachers through fun, affordable and accessible learning experiences throughout Chattanooga.As a nonprofit, The Chattery brings an unlimited variety of classes to our community ranging from the arts to financial planning.  We not only serve as ambassadors who bring awesome classes and workshops to Chattanooga but we’re also helping cultivate and encourage your passions.In other words, our classes are dreamt up and taught by you, a member of our community.All classes are for adults aged 18 and up unless otherwise noted.

Learn all about watercoloring from artist Lindsey Prince!

In this beyond the basics watercolor class, we will explore more in-depth techniques, some tricks and tips of the trade and some more advanced techniques. This class is beginner friendly, but some previous watercolor experience is helpful.After a brief demonstration and quick practice of these advanced techniques, we will put what we know to use by painting a still life.A simple single subject (like a fruit or a flower) will be chosen by the instructor in advance and displayed as our reference. The instructor will help guide you in the process of still like practice while each person creates their own unique painting.Supplies: All materials will be provided and shared. An assortment of watercolor mediums will be available for use. If you have your own supplies, please feel free to bring and use them!About the instructor:Lindsey Prince is a self-taught artist who likes to explore things in new and unconventional ways. She is also a small business owner and operator. Following the "rules" has never been her favorite way to do things, and her artwork is no different. Her love for drawing and painting began with a high school art class, where she was introduced to the purpose and exhilaration of creation and self-expression through art. She has since worked for years developing her own style.She resides in North Georgia, just over the state line from Chattanooga, TN with her husband and two boys.
