Join us for a special concert with Alida & the Nightshades as they explore the music and history of the Nueva Canción movement that emerged across Latin America in the 1960s and 1970s. Rooted in folk traditions, the movement used song as resistance to
repression, centering social justice, collective struggle, and a deep connection between people, land, and memory.

The evening will feature interpretations of key songs from the Nueva Canción repertoire, alongside original music and artistic works inspired by its political, cultural, and poetic foundations. The evening is hosted by Brooklyn based trio Alida & the Nightshades and features guest artists Luis McDougal, Miriam Elhajli, and Kim Barzola.
