Bicycle Day Celebration - Boston 2026

April 19, 1943. Albert Hofmann synthesized LSD-25 at Sandoz Laboratories in Basel, then rode his bicycle home during the first intentional acid trip in human history. Every April 19 since, that ride has been celebrated worldwide as Bicycle Day.

This year, we’re marking it in Boston.

Join Truxtun and the Harvard Undergraduate Psychedelics Society for a community celebration of psychedelic research, veteran mental health, and the growing movement to bring these tools into mainstream care.

The day:

12:10 PM — Community bike ride departs from Harvard Kennedy School (Elliott St side, next to the Bluebikes dock). The roughly 3-mile route crosses the BU Bridge and ends at New Día Cannabis Co. in Fenway.

At New Día, the real event begins — panels, discussion, and refreshments covering where psychedelic research is headed, why it matters, and the work Truxtun is doing to bring psilocybin-assisted programs to veterans, executives, and athletes through preparation, experience, and integration.

What to know:

The bike ride is an unofficial, unsupported community ride — we can’t provide bikes or first aid. Ride at your own discretion. The official Truxtun event is the gathering at New Día.

Don’t have a bike? Bluebikes has a dock right at the start point on Elliott St. You can also rent from Urban AdvenTours — reach out to us for a 10% off code.

No cost. Just show up. Support the cause and the mission.

About the organizers:

Truxtun is a veteran-led organization offering psilocybin-assisted retreat programs with structured preparation and integration coaching- subsidizing access to programs for veterans.

The Harvard Psychedelics Society promotes education and open dialogue around psychedelic science and policy on campus and beyond.
