Overview

Take a cinematic journey into the life and vision of Bertil Vallien, one of today’s most influential glass artists.

Join us for a special screening of The Master, an intimate and visually compelling documentary about Bertil Vallien, one of the most influential and visionary glass artists of our time.

Directed by Staffan Bengtsson, the film follows Vallien over the course of a year, offering rare access to his creative process and artistic universe. Audiences are invited into the studio, into the intensity of the glass furnace, and into the symbolic world that has defined his groundbreaking work for more than six decades. His iconic sand-cast sculptures and poetic visual language have continuously pushed the boundaries of glass as an artistic medium and secured his place on the international contemporary art stage.

This program is presented by Kosta Boda USA, reflecting the brand’s ongoing commitment to supporting artistic dialogue and cultural exchange in the United States. The screening is presented in connection with the exhibition Starman, featuring newly created works and unique pieces that have never before been shown publicly. This screening represents a rare opportunity to experience the documentary in an intimate setting, with limited seating available. Guests will have the opportunity to experience the exhibition before and after the film.

The documentary has a running time of approximately one hour.
