Come learn about our rich WWII and railroad history by visiting different stations throughout our National Historic Landmark Museum!
Join us at the Dennison RailroadDepot Museum, a National
Historic Landmark, for a day of fun interaction and education that will immerse students into the 1940s,when the Railroad was King and our country was involved in World War II. Students will experience this important time period as they travel through a variety of activity stations throughout the museum that will include activities such as: planting in our Victory Garden, preparing sandwiches at the Canteen for the next Troop Train, role playing with the Railroad 5 Man crew, comparing a Passenger Engine to a Yard Engine, climbing through our caboose, writing hobo language on a tree, walking through a 1940s Living room, and so much more.
Other highlights of your day include watching our WII Video in our Theater, meeting our WWI Mascot, Private Bulldog Bing,enjoying lunch at a local restaurant or bringing your lunch to eat outside at our picnic facilities. Be sure to save some time for memorable souvenirs from the Whistle Stop Railway Gift Shop. All students will receive a dog tag and a Canteen cookie.
Teacher packets with pre and post activities are also available.
