Who can attend Operation Healthcare Bound 2026?

Students ages 16–18 or Class of 2026 recent graduates.

Where is the event held?

Operation Healthcare Bound takes place at Northeastern Nevada Regional Hospital (NNRH) in Elko, NV.

Question 3

Will scrubs be provided?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Each student will receive a set of scrubs to wear during the event. Scrubs must be worn at all times. Students may wear a short‑ or long‑sleeve shirt in muted colors (white, black, gray, etc.). Neon colors are not allowed.

Is food provided?

Yes. Lunch, snacks, and beverages will be provided for all participants.

What forms do I need to complete?

Accepted Answer

After registering, you will receive one form, which covers HIPPA and other safety information for both NNRH and Frontier AHEC. All forms must be completed and submitted by the stated deadlines.

Do I need to have a 2-Step TB skin test and waiver form completed before registration?

Accepted Answer

No, the waiver form and TB instructions will be sent to you after you complete your registration. You will have until June 15, 2026 to complete the form and your 2 step TB skin test.

Question 7

What is a two‑step TB test, and why is it required?

Accepted Answer

A two‑step tuberculosis (TB) skin test is a screening process used to check whether someone has been exposed to TB. It involves two separate skin tests, placed 1–3 weeks apart. Each test must be read 48–72 hours after it is given. The full process requires four visits: 2 placements and  2 readings.

Will we interact with real patients?

Activities vary by department. Some areas may involve observing real clinical environments, but direct patient interaction is limited and supervised.

Do I need prior healthcare experience?

Accepted Answer

No experience is required. This event is designed for students exploring healthcare careers for the first time or looking to deepen their interest

Where can I get a two‑step TB tes

Accepted Answer

A tuberculosis (TB) skin test can be completed by your primary care provider or at an urgent care clinic. If you do not have a primary care provider, here are three urgent care clinics in Elko/Spring Creek with walk in availability: Aspen Quick Care, Morning Star Urgent Care, A+ Total Care.

What if I can’t complete the forms or TB test in time?

Accepted Answer

Students who do not complete all required forms and screenings cannot participate due to hospital compliance rules. Students must start their TB process no later than June 1st. Negative TB reading and required forms need to be received by OHB staff June 15th.

Can parents attend?

Accepted Answer

No. This is a student‑only experience due to hospital space, safety, and confidentiality requirements.
