Raising Respectful Young Men in a Social Media World: A Workshop

Raising Respectful Young Men in a Social Media World: A Workshop

YWCA Evanston/North ShoreEvanston, IL
Tuesday, May 19  •  5 PM - 7 PM
Overview

Enjoy this free workshop on how social media can escalate relationship conflicts and how adults can engage boys in meaningful conversations.

In today's digital world, boys and young men are constantly influenced by social media, peer culture, and online messages about relationships, masculinity, and respect. Unfortunately, many of these messages can contribute to unhealthy behaviors and conflict.

This engaging community workshop led by Kenneth “Kenny” Ollins, Founder of BORN LLC and a retired Juvenile Probation Officer with more than 30 years of experience working with youth in Chicago, explores how parents, educators, and community members can guide boys toward healthier attitudes about digital behavior.

Participants will learn how social media can escalate relationship conflicts and how adults can engage boys in meaningful conversations about respect, boundaries, and leadership.

Agenda:

  • 5:00-5:30 PM – Doors open! Check in, grab light refreshments, and connect with fellow community members
  • 5:30 PM – The workshop begins

Juvenile justice expert, Kenny Ollins, will lead the conversation and everyone can learn to lead better together. Whether you're a teen, parent, educator, or community member, your presence matters in guiding young people in today's world.

Come ready to listen, learn, and be inspired by the young leaders in our community!

NOTE: This workshop has been certified through the Illinois Certified Domestic Violence Professionals (ICDVP) to provide CEUs for certified ICDVP professionals. Be sure to click the $10 option for your CEUs when registering!
