Piedmont Chamber Orchestra: Spring Concert
We invite you to join the Piedmont Chamber Orchestra for our Spring concert in the beautiful Alan Harvey Theater!
Piedmont Chamber Orchestra Spring Concert
Saturday, May 16 • 4 PM - 5:30 PM
Overview
We invite you to join the Piedmont Chamber Orchestra for our Spring Concert in the beautiful Alan Harvey Theater on the Piedmont High School campus.
Experience a monumental turning point in orchestral music as we present the two greatest masters of the symphony side by side. Haydn’s handling of the symphonic form is on full display in his Symphony No. 103, paired with the youthful exuberance and overflowing creativity of Beethoven’s first symphony. Beethoven, a student of Haydn, takes what he learned from the symphonic virtuoso and breaks free of the classical norms and traditions which Haydn codified. Haydn’s symphony is the culmination of his contribution to the genre, and Beethoven’s the first tinkering of the man who changed the symphony forever.
