Join us for a mouthwatering field trip to Bibamba, an award-winning bean-to-bar chocolate factory, on Sunday, May 31!
Follow your taste buds behind-the-scenes of a local CHOCOLATE FACTORY!
Join the Museum of Food and Culture for the first installment of our Adult Field Trip series where we explore the stories behind the foods we love.
On this guided tour of Bibamba, an award-winning local chocolate factory, participants will explore how chocolate is transformed from tropical cocoa beans to melt-in-your-mouth chocolate. Along the way, we’ll engage all five senses as we taste chocolate, observe the production process, and learn about the global food systems that make this delicious treat possible.
Together, we’ll explore questions like:
- 🍫 How is chocolate made?
- 🌍 How do climate change and global markets impact cacao farmers?
- 🧑🌾 What does ethical sourcing actually mean?
- 🎉 How do small chocolate makers shape the future of the industry?
What you'll experience
- Step inside a working chocolate factory and see how cacao beans become finished chocolate
- Taste chocolate while learning about ethical sourcing and climate impacts
- Ask questions of experienced chocolatiers and connect with fellow curious eaters
- Leave with a new appreciation for the stories your food
Space is limited to keep the experience as interactive as possible.
Come ready to learn, taste, and see chocolate in a whole new way!
