Community Folk Art Center, Inc. (CFAC) is a vibrant cultural and artistic hub committed to the promotion and development of artists of the African Diaspora. Public programming includes exhibitions, film screenings, gallery talks, workshops and courses in the studio arts, including dance and ceramics. A proud unit of the Department of African American Studies, College of Arts & Sciences at Syracuse University, CFAC is a beacon of artistry, creativity, and cultural expression within the Syracuse community, the region and the world.

Step into a high-energy, welcoming space where movement meets freedom, culture, and self-expression. Led by Jaquaia Reid, this class blends Caribbean movement (Soca, Reggae, Kompa), Afrobeats, and R&amp;B–influenced movement, with touches of hip-hop and freestyle, creating a dynamic, multicultural experience designed for all levels—especially beginners. No prior dance experience is needed.This class focuses less on rigid choreography and more on feeling the music, moving with intention, and building confidence in your body. Through guided movement, easy-to-follow sequences, and moments of creative expression, participants will improve coordination, release stress, and reconnect with themselves in a supportive, judgment-free environment.Come as you are—this is your space to move, grow, and feel good.
