This class is hosted by danniel monroy and Emily Chapman
danniel (they/them) is a dancer, teacher and choreographer raised in Mexico and now living in Southern California. They have ten years of professional dance experience and have choreographed over twenty dance projects. danniel monroy graduated from UC Riverside in 2021 with a BA in dance and later obtained their MFA in dance at the University of California Irvine, where they have also gained vast experience in teaching people of diverse backgrounds and ages. danniel’s teaching experience includes Latin Social dance such as Salsa, Bachata, Cha-cha, Cumbia and Merengue as well as dance history, dance making and Contemporary American Art.
Emily Chapman(she/her) is a dance artist and teacher. She graduated cum laude with a BFA in Ballet with a teaching emphasis from the University of Utah. She is passionate about progressive pedagogy and inclusivity in dance, with the goal of creating spaces for joy and empowerment through movement. Emily graduated with her MFA in 2024 from UC Irvine.
