Special Guest:

No Part of Nothin'

Toe-tappin’ bluegrass and classic country from one of the DMV’s favorite acoustic bands.

Based in the Maryland/Washington, D.C. area, No Part of Nothin’ brings together tight harmonies, strong storytelling, original songs, and top-notch picking from some of the region’s finest bluegrass musicians. The band formed after several members met at a monthly bluegrass jam and decided to team up for the DC Bluegrass Union Festival band contest, launching a run that has since brought them to clubs, festivals, and listening rooms throughout the area.bluegrasscountry+1

The band features Michelle Murray on vocals and guitar, Jeff Karn on mandolin and vocals, Keith Arneson on banjo, Vince Forcier on bass and vocals, and Eddie Dickerson on fiddle. Their performances have been heard on Bluegrass Country Radio and other regional programs, and Michelle Murray hosts a daily bluegrass radio show on Bluegrass Country Radio as well.michellemurraymusic+1

No Part of Nothin’ has performed at venues and festivals including The Birchmere, Union Stage, The State Theatre, Creative Cauldron, Sultanna Downrigging Festival, Circa Blue Festival, and the Takoma Park Folk Festival, and they were Wammie finalists for Best Bluegrass Band in 2020 and 2021. Their EP sampler, A Few Toe Tappin’ Tunes, is available on digital platforms and Bandcamp.

Big Howdy

A DC-based progressive bluegrass band featuring the duet singing of Dede Wyland and Randy Barrett. The group offers a mix of original songs plus reinterpretations of classic country, bluegrass and roots material. Dede is a nationally recognized vocalist while Randy is a well-established singer songwriter and banjoist. Together with Ira Gitlin on bass and Tom McLaughlin on mandolin, Big Howdy sounds unlike any other band. And that's the way they like it
