Build practical awareness of common construction hazards through instructor-led OSHA Outreach Training from Tampa Bay Training.

This 10-hour OSHA Construction Industry Outreach course introduces workers to common jobsite safety and health hazards, workers’ rights, employer responsibilities, and methods for recognizing, avoiding, controlling, and preventing hazards.

The course is conducted IN PERSON over two days by an OSHA-authorized Construction Outreach trainer.

Participants who attend and successfully complete the entire program are eligible to receive an OSHA 10-Hour Construction student course completion card.

This is an in-person class. It is not a live-online or self-paced course.

The class is held in downtown Tampa. Participants should plan for paid parking and allow enough time to park, enter the building, and reach the fourth-floor classroom before the scheduled start time.

ABOUT THIS COURSE

The OSHA Outreach Training Program provides introductory safety and health information for workers.

The OSHA 10-Hour Construction course is primarily intended for workers who need greater awareness of common construction-related hazards and workplace safety responsibilities.

Training emphasizes hazard recognition, avoidance, control, and prevention. It also introduces participants to OSHA, workers’ rights, employer responsibilities, and the complaint and inspection process.

This is an interactive, instructor-led program intended to help participants apply safety concepts to real construction and field-work environments.

COURSE TOPICS

Course topics include applicable OSHA Outreach curriculum addressing:

• Introduction to OSHA
• Workers’ rights and employer responsibilities
• OSHA inspections and the complaint process
• Construction Focus Four hazards:
• • Falls
  • Electrocution
  • Struck-by hazards
  • Caught-in or between hazards
• Personal protective equipment
• Health hazards in construction
• Materials handling and storage
• Hand and power tool safety
• Additional construction safety topics selected in accordance with the OSHA Outreach curriculum

The specific examples, activities, and elective topics may vary based on the authorized trainer’s curriculum and the needs of the class.

IMPORTANT — THIS IS OSHA OUTREACH TRAINING

The OSHA Outreach Training Program provides introductory workplace safety and health education.

The OSHA 10-Hour student course completion card is not a professional certification, license, or qualification.

OSHA does not require workers generally to hold an Outreach card. However, some employers, project owners, unions, municipalities, states, or jobsites may require OSHA Outreach training as a condition of employment or site access.

This course does not replace hazard-specific, equipment-specific, employer-provided, or site-specific training required by applicable OSHA standards.

Employers remain responsible for determining and providing the training employees need for their assigned duties, equipment, hazards, and workplace conditions.

Participants should confirm with their employer, contracting agency, project owner, or jobsite that the OSHA 10-Hour Construction card is the appropriate credential before registering.

ATTENDANCE AND COURSE COMPLETION

Full attendance and participation are required.

Participants must complete all required topics and at least 10 instructional contact hours over the scheduled two-day course.

Attendance on both days is mandatory. Late arrival, early departure, or missed instructional time may prevent a participant from completing the course and receiving a student course completion card.

Tampa Bay Training cannot shorten the required instructional time, waive required attendance, or issue a completion card to someone who has not completed the applicable requirements.

Registration or partial attendance alone does not guarantee successful course completion or issuance of a card.

OSHA STUDENT COURSE COMPLETION CARD

Participants who successfully complete the entire course are eligible to receive an OSHA 10-Hour Construction student course completion card.

Please enter each participant’s complete and accurate name and mailing information during registration. The information provided will be used to prepare course records and request the student’s card.

Tampa Bay Training generally provides temporary course-completion documentation after successful completion. The OSHA student card must then be processed through the applicable Authorizing Training Organization.

Please allow approximately 60–90 days for processing and delivery of the OSHA student course completion card.

OSHA Construction Outreach cards do not have an expiration date. However, an employer, project owner, jurisdiction, or jobsite may require more recent training or periodic retraining. Participants are responsible for confirming any employer- or project-specific requirements.

• Skilled tradespeople and apprentices
• New employees entering construction-related work
• Public works and utility employees performing construction activities
• Roadway and infrastructure personnel
• Maintenance and field employees exposed to construction hazards
• Contractors and subcontractors
• Employees whose employer or jobsite requires an OSHA 10-Hour Construction card
• Supervisors seeking foundational construction-safety awareness

The OSHA 30-Hour Construction course may be more appropriate for supervisors and employees with substantial safety responsibilities.

OPEN-ENROLLMENT TRAINING

This Eventbrite registration is for a Tampa Bay Training open-enrollment class.

Open enrollment allows individuals and organizations with a small number of employees to register for scheduled training without arranging an entire private class.

Select the appropriate ticket quantity and enter accurate information for every person who will attend.

HAVE A GROUP TO TRAIN?

Organizations with seven or more participants should contact Tampa Bay Training about scheduling a private class.

Private OSHA 10-Hour Construction Outreach Training is conducted in person at an appropriate client or training location.

Private onsite classes may be subject to a travel fee based on the training location and associated travel requirements.
