Competitive Obedience Class is for dog/handler teams who want to compete in Obedience Trials held under several sanctioning organizations, including AKC, UKC, and ASCA. It is a non-verbal sport, as opposed to Rally.
This class is designed to teach students the handling skills needed to qualify (earn a score of 170 or higher) in three Novice trials and achieve a Companion Dog title for the dog/handler team.
Prerequisites: The dog must have passed a Beginner class (this means the dog will come when called, walk on a loose leash, and have a basic stay in the down, stand, and sit positions). The dog MUST NOT be aggressive toward people or other dogs.
