Community Indigo Dye Events

Sign up to participate in any of the events in Jaya's Community Indigo Dye Extravaganza! Separate registration is required for each individual event in the series.

We'll meet in Studio U4 at Cubberley to each sew a simple bag, bandana, or flag out of white cotton that's prepared for dyeing in our Community Indigo Vat. Please also register for the Community Indigo Dye Day to come back and dye your sewn item on May 16th! Additional events will also cover various resist pattern techniques, which you're welcome to also join (separate registration required for each event). Fabric, thread, and basic instruction to sew the hems and seams of your dyeable item provided. No previous sewing experience required, but attendees should be comfortable using scissors and and iron. A sewing machine will be available for use at the event, or you can can hand sew if you prefer (though you will likely need to complete your hand sewing at home after the event). Kids ages 10+ welcome to attend with an adult. Note: there will not be any dye vat at this event, we are only sewing simple items to dye later. Space is limited, so sign ups are necessary.
