Step into the exciting world of improv with our interactive workshop, "Discover the Magic of Improv." This two-hour in-person experience is specially designed for individuals who are curious about exploring the thrill of improv for the first time. Get ready to embark on a low-pressure, fun-filled adventure that will unleash your creativity, boost your confidence, and ignite your sense of playfulness.

Led by our experienced and supportive instructors, this workshop is tailored to provide a safe and welcoming environment where you can comfortably step outside your comfort zone. How our Flexible Ticket Pricing Works:

As part of our mission at Highwire Improv, we aim to make improv an art form that is simultaneously financiallly accessible to audiences and students and financially sustainable for performers and instructors. To achieve this, we offer three ticket options:

  1. Free Registration tickets.
  2. Pay What You Wish tickets.
  3. List Price tickets.

The list price tickets represent a standard registration fee to cover event costs, including paying our instructors. Individuals are welcome to use this as a guide and decide to pay less or more than that amount.

Note that for some venues (such as Enoch Pratt Free Libraries), we may only offer free or donation based tickets to comply with space rental expectations.

About your Instructors:

Jenny Kessler (she/her) has been practicing, performing, coaching, and facilitating improv since 2018. She is a brand strategist by day and a comedy goblin by night. She loves helping others experience the magic of play through improv, doing watercolor paintings when she travels, and exploring the DMV food scene. She’s known for using big emotions on and off stage, and has experience with the Harold, Deconstruction, La Ronde, Montage and Musical improv.

Rob Phoenix (he/him) is an improviser, writer, and producer from Baltimore, Maryland. He has been performed all over the country with the Baltimore based troupe Cakewalk and is a part of the Baltimore Improv Group house team MVA. Rob has trained with the Baltimore Improv group and instructors around the country in voice acting, sketch, and writing. Rob worked in radio for 14 years and is the Stage and Technical Producer for the Baltimore Improv Group. He teaches character building based workshops and likes to focus on being natural on stage. He is also one of the founders of the From Another Mother Improv Festival a.k.a. FAM Fest.
