Seattle's store for the rocks, gems, and everything for lapidary work.  We love to share our passion for nature and foster creativity and learning. Our staff is friendly and knowledgeable and very excited about the hobby. The shop and classrooms are comfortable and inviting.  There's so much to see, you might find yourself there for a long while.The NW Rockhounds Education Center is powered by Shunpike and can receive tax deductible donations. Shunpike is the 501(c)(3) non-profit agency that provides independent arts groups in Washington State with the services, resources and opportunities they need to forge their own paths to sustainable success. We hope through fundraising efforts, these classes can be offered at minimal cost to grow and nuture the art of rockhounding. Students who withdraw 7 days (or less) prior to the start date of the first class DO NOT receive a refund of any kind.CANCELLATIONS:All classes not meeting their minimum requirement three days prior to class start date may be cancelled. In this class students will learn shaping, polishing & drilling a hole in a stone using the Flex shaft tool.

Stone Carlving Level 1 - Introduction to the Flex Shaft &amp; Drilling HolesInstructor: Micah HollingerTime: 4pm-8pmAges: 18 &amp; upPrice: $120 + $5 Kit FeeNo Experience RequiredStudents will pick an already preformed stone, drill a hole in it, and refine the shape and polish using the Flex shaft tool and various grinding and polishing bits.You will learn:Safely operate a flex shaft tool. Identify basic flex shaft components and attachments. Polish a stone surface to a smooth finish. Drill a hole through stone.- Please Read Below -Check your email a few days before your class for further instructions.This class requires a kit fee. Please come prepared.Our classroom is located upstairs and are limited to 4 students for this class.***You are purchasing a seat at an event just like a sporting event or concert. These tickets are not transferable to a different class credit or store credit if you are not able to make it. Cancellations made 7 days or more in advance of the event date will receive a refund.
