No table. No equipment. No experience needed.

What if you could give the people you love a genuinely good massage — tonight?

Not a awkward shoulder rub that lasts two minutes. Not something that hurts your hands or throws out your back. A real, confident, nourishing massage that makes the person receiving it melt — using nothing but your hands, the floor, and a few hours of guided practice.

That's exactly what Massage Essentials gives you.

🙌 What Is This Workshop?

This is a hands-on, experiential workshop for everyday people who want to learn the art of touch — without enrolling in a 1,000-hour professional program.

We're not teaching table techniques. We're not training massage therapists. We're teaching you — the partner, the friend, the person everyone always asks because you "have good hands" — how to actually use them well. How to move your body so you don't hurt yourself. How to read what someone needs. How to give a massage anywhere, anytime, with zero special equipment.

This workshop takes place at Radiance Yoga — and that's intentional. The floor is the perfect classroom. No tables, no barriers, just you, your practice partner, and your hands.

✨ What You'll Learn

  • Anatomy basics — just enough to guide your touch intelligently, not overwhelm you
  • Body mechanics — how to use your whole body so you can massage for hours without exhausting or injuring yourself
  • Breathwork — the secret weapon of every great massage practitioner
  • Floor-based techniques — everything adapted for the real world, no table required
  • Multiple modalities — a toolkit of approaches you can mix and match
  • How to apply pressure — without killing your hands, wrists, or back
  • Techniques you can use immediately — on your partner, friends, or family tonight

The evening begins with anatomy and body mechanics, moves into demonstration, and then you practice — on each other, supervised by Shiva J, who is there to help you deepen your understanding in real time.

💫 Who Is This For?

This workshop is for you if:

  • Your partner comes home stressed and you want to actually help — not just offer a two-minute shoulder squeeze
  • Everyone in your life asks you for massage and you want to do it well without hurting yourself
  • You're curious about bodywork but have no interest in a professional program
  • You want to understand your own body better — how it moves, how it holds tension, how to release it
  • You want a fun, skill-building evening that you and a friend or partner can do together

Come solo, with a partner, or with a friend. You'll practice with multiple people throughout the evening — different body types, different needs — so you leave with a versatile, adaptable skill set. All bodies, all experience levels, all welcome.

Note: This workshop is academic and experiential in nature. Students work with multiple partners of varying body types, sizes and genders. Please come prepared to work with anyone with openness, respect, and curiosity. In the end, we are all just humans looking to have our needs met.

⭐ What Past Attendees Are Saying

"I came in knowing nothing and left feeling genuinely confident giving a massage for the first time in my life. Shiva J has a gift for making complex things feel simple and immediately useful. My partner has not stopped thanking me."

— Renata

"I've always wanted to learn massage properly but never had time for a full program. This was exactly the right amount — practical, hands-on, fun. The body mechanics section alone was worth the whole ticket price. I finally understand how to use my weight instead of just my hands."

— Anonymous

"My friend and I came together and had the best time. It's surprisingly fun to learn something tactile like this with other people. And the skills are genuinely useful — I used what I learned the very next day."

— Jade

"I was a little nervous about working with strangers but the container Shiva J creates is incredibly warm and professional. By the end of the first hour I forgot to be nervous. By the end of the evening I felt like I'd found a new superpower."

— Anonymous

"As someone who works in wellness I was curious what this would add to my toolkit. The answer: a lot. The floor-based approach is something I hadn't explored and it's completely changed how I work with clients informally."

— Marcus, yoga instructor

"The breathwork integration was a total revelation. I never understood why I always felt so tired after trying to massage someone. Now I know exactly what I was doing wrong — and how to fix it."

— Anonymous

💸 The Confidence Guarantee

Attend. Practice. If you don't leave feeling genuinely more confident in your touch — you don't pay.

I have taught this material long enough to know what happens when someone gives themselves permission to learn with their whole body. I am so confident that you will leave this workshop with real, usable skills that I'm backing it with a personal promise.

If you attend the full workshop and don't feel that your understanding of touch, body mechanics, and massage has genuinely shifted — find me before you leave. Full refund. No questions. Just gratitude for showing up.

— Shiva J, Facilitator

🎒 What to Bring & What to Wear

Wear as little as you're comfortable with. Tank tops, shorts, and minimal clothing are strongly encouraged — we are practicing massage on actual skin, and fabric gets in the way. The more skin you can expose comfortably, the more you'll get out of the practice.

  • Tank tops and shorts are ideal — think beach attire, not gym attire
  • Massage oil — we recommend Fractionated Coconut Oil
(It's the least expensive option, works best for this type of bodywork, won't leave you feeling sticky, and is sold at most Whole Foods Markets and health food stores)
  • A yoga mat or floor pad — we work on the floor, not a table
  • A small pillow or blanket for comfort (optional but nice)
  • Water (in a sealed, spill-proof container)
  • An open mind and a willingness to use your hands

🌟 About Your Facilitator — Shiva J

Shiva J is a Certified Tantra Educator, Kundalini Yoga Instructor, Somatic Facilitator, Dating & Relationship Coach, Licensed Clinical Hypnotherapist, and Master NLP Practitioner with over seven years of professional facilitation experience.

His journey into bodywork began not in a classroom but in necessity — a severe back injury ended a 20-year career in fitness and forced him to study his own body from the inside out. What began as personal healing became a professional calling: helping everyday people understand how their bodies work, how to move with intelligence, and how to offer genuine care through touch.

He teaches massage not as a clinical skill but as a human one — accessible, practical, and immediately useful in the relationships that matter most to you.
