Setting the Foundation for strength and stability without abandoning gentleness and flexibility.✨
This workshops style series will meet for 2 hours each Friday. Each class will begin with some yogic philosophy & yogic psychology along with an aromatherapy anointing ritual to enhance the practices. I will be sending students home with samples (about 10-15 drops) of therapeutic grade essential oils along with aromatherapy rituals and insights around how we can bring plants in as teachers as we explore and cultivate our own inner landscape and seasonality. Springtime is a time in nature when the tree is “putting on wood” for strength and stability. Our roots, that have been growing depth all winter, must be strong to support our springtime growth. Classes will include asana (postures), pranayama (breathwork), kriya (practices used for purifying energy channels and harmonizing energy flow within the body), meditation & more. Each class will end with a long savasana and a short neck and scalp massage. Seasonal tea will be available after class as a traditional (optional) offering for a 15-20 minute integration time to build Sangha (spiritual community) and allow for transition. This is a great time to share experiences and ask questions.
Was there ever a time in your life when you were strong because you had to be? A time when you survived, you pushed through, you did what had to be done? That strength is valid and it was necessary for that season of life that was teaching you about survival, but it is not sustainable to remain in the season of survival forever. There may be times when we pull from those lessons again, but without becoming dysregulated by the stress patterns that our nervous system remembers, remaining rooted in a deep sense of trust and understanding that we are safe to respond differently because we have built strength that is now rooted in trust & stability. That is what this Aroma-Yoga Springtime Series for Strength & Stability will be all about.
This is the season for discerning what aspect of the self we are strengthening. When we build strength from an ego driven place of attachment/expectation, or from a survivalistic place of urgency or desperation - it can be destabilizing to the spirit. When we build strength without abandoning any aspect of our True Self - our emotional messaging, our instinctual needs, our evolving Dharma - we don’t just build strength, we build relationship. And when we feel safe and seen in any relationship - most importantly the relationship we have with ourselves - we build TRUST. Trust that is rooted in our relationship with our True Self builds stability that ripples out into all aspects of our lives. Strength with stability allows us to distill a life where we meet each moment with trust over urgency, truth over illusion, with spirit over ego. And that is what I am interested in exploring in the Aroma-Yoga Springtime Series I will be offering this May. If this speaks to the season of life you are in right now, I hope you will join us on the journey! Let’s circle up around the alter and discover what’s possible when we KEEP PRACTICING.
