Grab the whole family and join us to remove urban waste from a wild segment of Santiago Creek in the City of Orange!

Grijalva Sports Center

Visit the home of a diversity of resident and migratory birds, pollinators, reptiles and mammals. Explore a remnant aromatic shrubland and riparian woodland that offers a glimpse into the historic conditions that were observed during the Portolá Expedition in 1769. Identify uniquely adapted plants and wildlife, learn about the watershed ecology and hear fascinating stories about the creek's cultural history. To avoid single-use disposable plastics, bring reusable, durable leather or cloth gardening gloves and cloth grocery bags to remove litter and salvageable/recyclable items from the stream bed. A limited amount of reusable gloves and bags will be supplied. Possibility of crossing a flowing creek. Mix of sun and shade. Uneven, rocky and unstable terrain. Not recommended for those with medical or mobility issues. Wear hats, protective clothing and sun protection.
