On Saturday, May 2nd, and Sunday, May 3rd, The Sovereign will host a private guided tastings of Trappist Ales. Our very own Greg Engert, NRG Beverage Director, will lead you through 9 of his favorite Trappist Ales.

Trappist beer must be brewed by, or under the direct supervision of, monks belonging to the Cistercians of the Strict Observance (the Trappist order), within the walls of a Trappist monastery, and in accordance with strict standards set by the International Trappist Association (ITA). Over time, the number of Trappist breweries has fluctuated. There are currently 8 active Trappist breweries in the world.

Together, we will explore a range of Trappist ales, including a 3-year vertical tasting of Orval. Tickets are $55 per guest, excluding taxes and fees. The private tasting begins at 12:00 PM. Each guest will receive nine (9) taster pours of Trappist ale.
