Detailed Bios

Nathaniel C. Fick is a former American diplomat, technology executive, author, and former United States Marine Corps officer. He was the CEO of cybersecurity software company Endgame, Inc., and then worked for Elastic NV after it acquired Endgame. He was an Operating Partner at Bessemer Venture Partners. In 2022, he was selected to lead the U.S. State Department's Bureau for Cyberspace and Digital Policy.

Ambassador Fick and his team led the creation of the U.S. International Cyberspace and Digital Policy Strategy, released by Secretary of State Antony Blinken at the RSA Conference in 2024. Before leaving office last year, Fick gave an interview to Wired warning against complacency in the battle over cyberspace with China and Russia.

Fick was trained as an infantry officer and was eventually assigned as a Marine platoon commander. He was an officer in the Amphibious Ready Group until the September 11 attacks. He then led his platoon into Afghanistan for Operation Enduring Freedom. Upon his return to the United States in March 2002, he was recommended for Marine reconnaissance training. He subsequently led Second Platoon of Bravo Company of the 1st Reconnaissance Battalion during the invasion of Iraq. Fick is the author of One Bullet Away: The Making of a Marine Officer, a memoir of his military experience published in 2005 that was a New York Times bestseller, one of The Washington Post's "Best Books of the Year", and one of the Military Times' "Best Military Books of the Decade".

Fick attended Dartmouth College. He graduated with degrees in classics and government. While at Dartmouth, Fick captained the cycling team to a U.S. National Championship. After leaving the Marine Corps, Fick earned both an MPA and MBA from Harvard University. He resides in Maine with his wife, Margaret Angell, and two daughters.

Rachel Wilson is a prominent cybersecurity executive, former senior National Security Agency (NSA) official, and a leading expert on cyber threats, geopolitics, and data defense. She currently serves as the Managing Director and Head of Cybersecurity for Wealth Management at Morgan Stanley, where she leads a team responsible for protecting the firm and its clients from nation-state actors and organized cybercrime.

Prior to joining Morgan Stanley in 2017, Wilson spent 15 years at the NSA, becoming the youngest person in agency history to be elevated to the Senior Executive ranks. During her tenure, she ran counterterrorism operations, detecting and disrupting plots against the U.S. and its allies, and served as the Chief of Operations in the United Kingdom, where she worked with British intelligence to secure the 2012 Summer Olympics. Later, she spent five years leading NSA’s cyber exploitation operations, serving as the senior committing official for high-risk cyber operations against foreign adversaries.

At Morgan Stanley, Wilson bridges the gap between intelligence-driven defense and financial services, focusing on the protection of critical infrastructure and personal digital assets. She is a recognized thought leader on how geopolitical conflicts translate into cyber threats against corporations and individuals.

Wilson has been recognized for her work as part of the 2019 MAKERS Class, a program honoring pioneering women, and was named a Top Woman in WealthTech by ThinkAdvisor. She frequently advises on cybersecurity best practices and advocates for enhanced digital safety for families and children. Wilson holds a BA from Wellesley College and an MA from the University of Chicago.
